Why study a Bachelor of Communication?

You’ll be working with industry experts as teachers, real-world clients providing briefs for assessment, and collaborating with other students as you will in the field. Along the way, you’ll learn from industry experts within the world-leading Digital Media Research Centre – QUT's home of groundbreaking insights and strategies in digital media and communications.
Flexible course options
QUT lets you tailor your communication degree to suit your interests. As part of your degree, you’ll undertake a communication first major:
- Bachelor of Communication (Journalism)
- Bachelor of Communication (Media and Communication Industries)
- Bachelor of Communication (Promotional Communication)
- Bachelor of Communication (Screen Industries)
You can then add one of the following communication options to your studies:
- a second communication major from the above, OR
- two communication minors (shortened, condensed forms of studying majors) from:
- Strategic Communication
- News and Factual Media
- Media and Society
- Digital Media Analytics
- Social Media Strategy
You may also choose to add a second major, minor or electives from across the university tailored to your interests
