You’ll gain a strong foundation in key areas of law, including:

In addition to these established areas of law, you’ll have the opportunity to explore emerging areas of legal practice, such as:

You'll also develop a comprehensive knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders perspectives on law and the legal system, preparing you to work in culturally diverse contexts.
Throughout your degree, we will provide a diverse range of experiential legal experiences. These opportunities will allow you to develop real-world legal skills while working with industry professionals in various areas of law.
Our Bachelor of Property Economics is one of the few specialised property courses in Australia. It gives you the knowledge, skills, and practical work experience needed to excel in the property industry.
You'll build a comprehensive understanding of the property industry, covering key topics such as investment, asset management, development, valuation, and research, with an emphasis on finance and the commercial property market sector.
You'll also learn about building, construction management, planning, business, and environmental and energy efficiency, and develop an understanding of how these areas work together to achieve a balanced, cost-effective, and sustainable built environment.
As an added perk to this course, you'll look behind the scenes at commercial and retail properties, including some of Brisbane's most prominent buildings. In these exclusive tours you'll hear from on-site property managers, get a first-hand look at the day-to-day operations and management of these properties, and see how the theories you've learned in classes are applied in the real world.
Professional recognition
The Bachelor of Laws (Honours) is a Legal Practitioners' Admissions Board (LPAB) approved law degree, meaning you are eligible for admission to the Australian Legal Profession. To become a solicitor, you must also complete LPAB approved Practical Legal Training. We are one of the few Australian Law Schools to offer approved Practical Legal Training through our Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. To work as a Barrister there are additional training requirements after you are admitted to the legal profession.
