Find your cyber path
'I have always found cyber security fascinating but wasn’t sure how my skills could fit. Studying cyber security opened my eyes to the variety of roles beyond ethical hacking and made me realise I could combine my law and IT skills to help protect people and organisations.'
Bachelor of Information Technology/Bachelor of Laws (Honours)
Two degrees, one unique career
'Pursuing a double degree in law and IT has provided me with a distinct advantage by giving me a comprehensive understanding of both fields. My legal education has equipped me with the unique ability to critically analyse the legal implications of technology, while my technical knowledge from my IT degree enables me to engage more effectively with IT professionals, bridging the gap between legal requirements and technological implementation. Together they have allowed me to fit into a niche in the legal industry within digital services as senior analyst, where I integrate technology with legal expertise to create effective solutions.'
Bachelor of Information Technology/Bachelor of Laws (Honours) graduate
Think IT. Think QUT.

Linking technology and law
I was recently sponsored to go to a conference about technology and the law in The Hague, in the Netherlands. As an IT and law double degree student, it was incredibly exciting to learn about the links between my degrees and how I can combine them in the future. There were so many interesting sessions discussing how technology can be incorporated into the legal industry including AI, coding for lawyers, and blockchain technology. I was also able to network with students, academics and industry members from all over the world.
